Here's Proof

These are all the bottle caps Dave Spitzer ( my son's 4th grade teacher) has collected...so far.

Here is what is awesome about this...my son finished 5th grade this year. This blog connected with one of my son's former teachers....who was inspired to collect his bottle caps ( to recycle at AVEDA)... and he sent a photo to "share the proof".

Teachers rock!

My mom is collecting caps..so is my colleague Sarah. I wonder who else?

Julie - you inspire action! I walked down the street juggling 3 oranges today from the fruit stand because I didn't want a plastic bag.

It might be helpful, Juls, if we could find out what they do with the caps. They are obviously not recyclable in the usual sense. So can these be melted down or what? I guess if they melted them down, we would not have to worry about animals eating them. But would that produce toxin in the melting process? If we are going to try to "spread the word" it might be helpful to tell folks about the end product of all this.

Good Point Ginny: Once collected, the caps are recycled and turned into new packaging for Aveda products, like hair color and shampoo.
